Lennart Christensson has more than 25 years in the industry, as technology manager/CTO for some small/larger companies like TetraPak & ABB within Industrial IT & Automation.
He joined GE in 2004 and is currently in the GE Automation & Control’s Equipment Insight team, a business unit focused on making the Industrial Internet real for Equipment Manufacturers.
He is responsible for leveraging GE’s portfolio of industrial IT and automation solutions to deliver cloud based infrastructure for automation equipment deployment and management as the Business Leader Europe Connected Machines.
Lennart began his career in GE’s industrial software business with roles in consulting, sales, and marketing. Since that time, he has provided commercial leadership across various aspects of GE’s automation business, including sales management, key account management and channel management. Before joining the Equipment Insight team he had a role promoting solutions to GE internally – like Remote Monitoring & Analysis solution, an area GE is leading.
He is located in Sweden and holds a M.Sc. Engineering Physics from Chalmers University in Sweden.

Cesare is currently Manufacturing Plant Director for Stanley Black and Decker. In this role, he is responsible for all manufacturing operations and manufacturing support functions. His key responsibilities include planning, organising and directing the manufacturing operations which will ensure the most effective return on assets.

Pierluigi Petrali has been working Whirlpool Europe since 1989. He started his career in Information Technology, working at introduction in Whirlpool of CIM, MES and Fault Tolerant Networks. He has then worked in innovation projects, contributing to the spread and growth of TRIZ methodology in Italy and Europe and to the development of product/process design support approaches.
Presently he coordinates manufacturing research and development activities for EMEA region. Directly involved as technical and main partner in more than 10 funded research projects under FP7 and H2020 program in the last five years, he’s currently working in definition and implementation of Whirlpool Industry 4.0 strategy. He’s the inventor of five patents and author several technical papers and public speech on TRIZ, Technology Forecasting, Manufacturing Quality, Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.

Dr. Axel Schmidt
Director Manufacturing Engineering
Dr. Schmidt studied mechanical engineering with a focus on applied mechanics and computer science at the Technical University of Clausthal. After receiving his doctorate in the field of machine acoustics, he joined Sennheiser electronic in 1998 as a project manager. From 2001 to 2005 he was the program manager for microphone development. Since 2006, he has been responsible for production engineering at Sennheiser.

Following in the footsteps of Dr. Alexander Grohmann, Dr. Friedrich Völker has taken over the Competence Center Digital Products at Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co KG in October 2015. He started his career as the management assistant to the CEO of the management board in 2013 after he published his dissertation on family business strategy.
Friedrich has both a Master of Science degree from Germany and a MBA from the United States and thus bridges the gap between traditional German engineering and the IoT driven approaches of Silicon Valley.

Athanasios currently holds the position of “Computational & Data Science R&D Scientific Director”. He is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD from the University of Liège. He joined Air Liquide in 1995. Within the Group, he found several ways to express his passion for simulation and applied math in R&D and Operations. In particular, he is a pioneer in the development of multi-variable predictive control systems and innovative real-time optimization systems.
He presented the first roadmap of big data for Air Liquide and set up the first teams of data scientists, in 3 countries, within R&D’s “Computational & Data Science Global Lab”. He introduced artificial intelligence, through proofs of concept and alliances with innovative companies in the field. He recently launched the “data and decision sciences lab” (d2-lab) initiative in Air Liquide, a network of experts and practitioners, to reach scientific excellence in these areas.

Kari Terho is Director and Head of Smart Factory Management, Elisa Industrial Internet on Things (IIoT) services for Corporate Customers in Elisa Corporation, the leading ITC service provider in Finland.
Kari joined Elisa as Vice President and Head of Fixed and mobile Network Services in 2008 for Corporate Customers.
Prior to joining to Elisa, Kari held various director positions in the Sales and Business Development in TeliaSonera, the most recent being Director of Business Development for TeliaSonera IES SME Marketing and Offering.

Test Lab Manager
Alexander Allmendinger is the Test Lab Manager of the OPC Foundation European Certification Lab and is running the lab since it opened in 2016. In this position, he is working with a great variety of OPC products and solutions on a daily basis. Because he is also working with a wide variety of communication protocols, he has been sharing the vision of the OPC Foundation for many years now. In the early ages of OPC UA he started working with the technology when validating the first implementations of the Unified Architecture stacks. He also helped to prepare one of the first certified OPC UA clients and was maintaining it for several years. Since then he joined almost every Interoperability Workshops to ensure interoperability with other OPC UA products. This finally led to his current position in the OPC Foundation European Certification Lab and is a member of the Compliance Steering Committee.
